Do all moms look back at previous years and wonder what will this year bring? Will it be better than the last?
I remember driving my children to the school where I taught and praying over them, "You are the head and not the tail...You are above and not beneath...You are blessed coming in and going out...Blessed in the city and blessed in the field...Blessed child of God!" I pled the blood of Jesus over them, over the school, over their classroom...and I released the angels of God to hover over the school. Do we not need that now more than ever!
There was a plan that was foiled in our parish to shoot some students this first day in a high school. Thankfully, some students went to the police authorities and told what they had heard. I was told that the youth in our church and youth pastors have been praying over all the schools. God heard those prayers, and He is continually watching over our loved children.

Journaling recipes
A trick that I learned from a cook, plan out main meals by the week and then grocery shop. Not novel to many, but not only do I try to do that weekly, but I also make notes in a spiral notebook on the new recipes. My family gives a rating from 1-10...and sometimes I write alongside the name of the recipe, cookbook and page what I would do differently to make it more appealing.
Tonight's meal was one I have done only once before: Homestyle Ground Beef Casserole from Southern Living Comfort Foods. Really good!

Unknown but Desirable Territory
In high school I took typing....typing on a typewriter not a computer...and in college, we wrote our papers and typed them...
My mother never told her age...and sometimes lied about it...and I do not tell mine now...but I am old enough to relate to The Help. I have not seen the movie, nor have I read the book. I will, but I have seen the previews often enough and heard people's remarks. I am finishing The Penny, co-authored by Joyce Meyer and Deborah Bedford. My favorite book to teach to middle schoolers was Maniac Magee by Jerry Spinelli. These two deal with the period of segregation.
Anyway, I just want to blog. I want to blog about the present adventures, if they can be called that...I want to blog about things that I have a belief and opinion about, and yet ask questions of those that know more than I do about the ramifications of things like S & P lowering the United States' credit rating...and isn't this a sign of the end times?
